Sims 3, my sim won't sleep please help?

My sim will get into the bed and start to sleep and then suddenly will be standing by the bed again. This happens with the other sim i have too. I have tried loads to stop it happening. I bought a new bed. I moved the bed i bought a new bed and put it in a different place completely. I've restarted the game and the computer. Nothing seems to work. I dont want to have to use cheats but at the moment it seems to be my last resort but my buymode is also causing some problems. It wont let me delete the buffet tables i have. I bought one for a party i was having but it didnt come up until ages later so i had bought another one but now it wont let me get rid of one of them. The hand tool seems to be messing up. It used to run perfectly without any problems. Please help me.
